Phase 1 of the construction
The demolishers have been to the site to demolish the shed. It was a lovely surprise as demolition was supposed to occur on Monday.
It coincided with us getting the keys to the rental place next to the construction site and an open home inspection opposite. Hope the looming construction would not drive away potential buyers for our neighbours.
Anthony mentioned that Shirley might sell her place around Feb 2010. Too bad we won't be able to afford it as we would then have a bigger piece of land.
Tom mentioned that John sure loves to work with Asian tradies. But then, John does have a Vietnamnese business partner and quite a number of Asian clients. As long as the quality is monitored, no issues. I do not want to see dodgy work. Who knows, since we're going to be living next to dust and noise for the next 9 months of the construction.
The unexpected hiccup was no one knew there was no sewer connection! Arrghhh!! That means John can't do the plumbing and in turn Wayne can't drill the ground for the geothermal and in turn the slab can't go in before Xmas! I blame John in that he probably shouldn't have assumed the sewer is already connected. Oh well. Let's see what else can happen.
